When looking for the best dirt bike helmet, I tested several helmets on the local bike shops. I was searching for a light helmet that cools well and is comfortable to wear in hot weather. One of the reasons I was going for a light helmet is because of neck issues and neck fatigue in longer riding sessions and multi-day adventures.

The KLIM F3 Carbon weight of only 1110 grams is the by far the biggest selling point for many riders. So, naturally I had to test this helmet.

Trail Test Results

I took the KLIM F3 Carbon helmet to my favorite local track and put it to the test.

The very first thing I noticed, is the weight. My previous AGV offroad helmet is about 250 grams heavier on paper, but the difference is much more noticeable.

Overall, the helmet feels very narrow and snug. The sizing is spot on and the lining feels comfortable to wear. The visor is adjustable and much longer than in most helmets. This helmet is the first helmet I have used where the visor gets low enough to block the early morning and late evening sun from your eyes. It also leaves the sides open for added visibility. I like it a lot.

After putting the helmet through its paces on the trails, we can confidently say that it lives up to the hype. Its lightweight design makes it easy to wear for extended periods, and the ventilation system kept my head cool and comfortable during the fairly hot spring ride.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the KLIM F3 Carbon helmet’s performance on the trails. The helmet feels very comfortable to wear, has great ventilation and that chip strap latch is very nice!
